How I build and support products
I plan system boundaries before implementation and stay involved in operations after release.
01 · Before implementation
Review the design before implementation
I write design specifications before implementation so teams can review product paths, system boundaries, and delivery work while changes are still inexpensive.
02 · In the critical paths
Keep payments and background work recoverable
For payments, providers, and queued work, I use idempotency, bounded retries, and durable handoffs so teams can recover from failures.
03 · After release
Make failures easier to trace
I add observability across web, APIs, scheduled work, and queues, while keeping personally identifiable information out of logs.
